In the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, significant meadows are located in regions such as Burgas, Sarafovo, Pomorie, Sunny Beach, Poda, Otmanli and Sozopol Bay.
Zostera noltii
Distribution in the Black Sea

It thrives in shallow, brackish waters with low salinity, typically in depths ranging from 0.2 to 3 meters. The species often coexists with other seagrasses such as Zostera marina, Ruppia maritima, and Ruppia cirrhosa, forming mixed meadows on clean sandy or muddy substrates .
Potamogeton pectinatus
Habitat and Distribution in the Black Sea
In the Black Sea, Potamogeton pectinatus is typically found in sheltered shallow waters with depths ranging from 0.5 to 3 meters. These areas often have muddy or sandy substrates and are influenced by freshwater inputs, resulting in salinities between 0.5 and 10 psu. The plant forms mixed or monospecific meadows alongside other species like Zostera noltii, Ruppia maritima, and Stuckenia pectinata.
